The Future Energy and Enviro-tech Fund
Context
I believe that the energy sector is undergoing a fundamental once-in-a-century change, driven by: climate change; renewables; batteries; hydrogen fuel cells and other energy storage solutions; real-time remote monitoring; electric vehicles, and other innovations. The water and waste sectors are undergoing aligned transformations.
Investment Philosophy
I believe that the future composition of the global energy sector will look very different to today. The leaders of the future will be different to today’s incumbents, and hence investments in these ‘future leaders’ are likely to generate superior returns over the medium to long term as this shift takes place.
The Fund
A high-conviction long-only strategy based on fundamental business analysis. Investing in a small number of high-growth, well-run ‘clean tech’ companies with the aim of holding long term positions while the investment thesis for a given company continues to be upheld.
Typical investor profile
Patient wholesale investors who want exposure to the upside associated with the fundamental changes in the clean energy sector, and in doing so to back the companies that will drive vastly improved environmental outcomes.
